Art one
(Beginning art class)
The beginning art class explores a variety of media, techniques, tools and processes. The students study art theory and art concepts as well as Art history. Throughout the year, students create art pieces that are expressions of themselves as well as explorations in aesthetics. There is a strong emphasis in object production as well as learning the vocabulary of art both visual and verbal.
Portfolio (Advanced Art)
This class is open to anyone who has successfully completed the Beginning Art Class.
In this class you explore the materials, concepts and techniques that are of interest to you.
The object of the class is to create a portfolio that is a reflection of you as an artist.
The portfolio shows what you are capable of doing. It reflects your strongest work.
For a meaningful experience you are asked to think of yourself as an emerging artist. Self motivation and willingness to set artistic and creative goals is required. The desire to work hard to meet these goals at home and at school is of the utmost importance
